Ceiling Joists

Once the rafters were set and blocked we began to sheath the roof with 5/8's OSB. We also sheathed the top of the ceiling joists, creating the floor of the loft. We could not complete the roof until we built and set the timber truss over the porch and completed the associated framing.

Ceiling joists

Ceiling joists prevent the rafters from forcing the walls outward and provide floorspace for a loft.
