Fascia and Felt
Our plan was to wrap the fascia with the same metal used on the roof, but first we added a wider fascia board to the eves and rake. This gave a more pleasing depth to the roof thickness, and would better protect the tongue and groove soffit.
Scaffolding was erected to aid installation of roofing felt and metal. Note the metal wall-brace straps have been installed.
Due to the steep pitch of the roof we opted to erect scaffolding to install the roofing felt and metal. This allows the person on the scaffold to better support the person on the roof with tools and materials. Once the felt was installed we ran several lengths of baling twine from one eve over the ridge to the other to hold the paper down. We stapled the twine about every foot or so. This method was put to the test on a windy day soon after with no paper tearing loose.
