Eve soffit

The eve soffit consists of 1X6 tongue and groove with a soffit vent. The tongue or groove directly adjacent to the vent was removed and the edge rounded over with a router to provide a more pleasing detail. The gap between the tongue and groove and the wall will be closed with plaster.

Porch ceiling

The porch ceiling was installed much the same as the eve soffit. The tongue and groove was started against the truss to provide a tight fit. A single piece of tongue and groove was ripped and those edges rounded over to accommodate the soffit vent.

Interior ceiling

To tie in with the exterior soffits, all interior ceilings were finished with 1X6 tongue and groove. Plaster will be applied to the bale walls up to the wood on the lower ceilings, using it as a plaster stop.
