Tirolessa Plaster Sprayer
This tool, though by no means required, provides for the application of a wheelbarrow load of plaster in about 10 minutes. While the next batch is turning in the mixer, one can apply the batch just mixed, clean the sprayer and wheelbarrow, trowel and finish the just-sprayed coat, clean the tools, and take a breather, just as the next batch is ready. The cadence this sprayer can call is brisk, but not overwhelming, and very efficient. For a structure this size, an entire interior or exterior application can be accomplished comfortably in one day. The requirements of the compressor to operate the sprayer are specific (7 acfm @90 psi, though it operates at 50 psi), so if you are contemplating the purchase of a compressor to operate pneumatic fasteners, consider upgrading to provide the volume of air required for this tool. You'll be glad you did. Additional information on the Tirolessa sprayer can be found here.Scaffolding
Though much can be accomplished safely with ladders, there comes a point when a ladder provides insufficient reach or maneuverability, or simply gets in the way, as with plastering. The solution is scaffolding. Freestanding and sturdy, easily moveable and able to be assembled or disassembled by a single person, scaffolding will prove its usefullness throughout the entire building process. We utilized the "bakers" scaffolding, taking advantage of its narrow footprint and lighter weight.
